The educational project of our private school in Montequinto

Our bilingual programme ensures that learning is personalised for each of our pupils, nurturing their curiosity and motivation to learn.

Academic excellence

Personalised learning and talent development

With the accompaniment of our form tutors, teachers and educational psychology team, we adapt educational resources to each pupil’s needs. This approach ensures meaningful learning and high motivation, creating an environment in which every pupil feels supported and able to reach their full potential.

Critical thinking

To foster interest and curiosity in learning, we use strategies that develop critical and visible thinking. Our pupils practise essential skills such as analysis, reflection and decision-making, which make them more reflective and metacognitive learners. We build these strategies into their daily routine, improving their ability to evaluate information and make decisions independently. We believe that developing executive functions is fundamental at this stage, as it lays the foundations for the cognitive maturity needed for the move up to Secondary.

Scientific and mathematical learning

Our pupils learn maths applied to real-life situations, integrating deductive and creative thinking into their learning.

Science is a fundamental part of our curriculum, so we encourage children’s innate curiosity and their interest in exploring and understanding the world around them.

Music, art and culture

Through interdisciplinary projects, we incorporate musical, cultural and artistic elements that allow our pupils to express themselves and develop their creativity.

We have our own Music Project, which allows our pupils to enjoy all the cognitive benefits that music brings.

Technology project

We promote a safe and responsible environment for the use of technology, preparing our pupils to navigate an increasingly digital future with confidence and creativity.

Cooperative learning

Project-based learning is an experiential methodology that equips pupils to make decisions and to implement and evaluate initiatives with real-world applications. It integrates different areas of knowledge and promotes the development of essential competences. We foster interpersonal skills and deep understanding through methods such as research, Problem-Based Learning (PBL) and understanding projects.

Cooperative learning, meanwhile, organises pupils into small groups, making it easier to work together to grasp concepts, develop competences and strengthen social skills. This dynamic enriches individual learning and strengthens collaborative learning, deepening each pupil’s understanding and enriching the shared experience.

Thinking strategies

To strengthen pupils’ critical thinking and their understanding of content, we use Thinking-Based Learning strategies in the classroom. These methodologies help make thinking visible, manage emotions and build motivation. We foster key skills such as decision-making and comparison, and use thinking routines that generate interest and promote higher-order thinking. This approach not only enriches learning but also inspires pupils to explore and reflect more deeply.

Preparing for and entering competitions and scholarships

To help pupils put the skills and competences they have acquired into practice, we encourage them to take part in external competitions in maths, creative writing, art, public speaking and more.

International outlook

The only group of private schools in Spain accredited as Cambridge International Schools

Our pupils learn to think, communicate and work in Spanish and English within an international education framework endorsed by the University of Cambridge, taught by specialists in bilingual and international education.

English language immersion

Our international teaching staff are experts in global and multilingual education. They teach our pupils using the methodologies and tools of the English-speaking world, with excellent results.

From 5º de Primaria (age 10–11), our pupils have priority access to our OAK International academies in the USA, Ireland and Switzerland, which offer a range of programmes lasting a term, a semester or a full school year.

Third language: French

We introduce French as a third language. Our aim is to develop a plurilingual mind in each pupil, strengthening their language ability.

Boarding schools

Our pupils have access to study-abroad programmes for a term, a school year or a summer camp at:

  • OAK Academies (USA, Ireland and Switzerland)
  • American high schools partnered with our OAK Academies

Personal accompaniment for every pupil and family

Form tutor programme (Plan de Acción Tutorial)

Our form tutors, together with the educational psychology and guidance department, run a programme focused on supporting and guiding pupils through their learning and all-round development.

Parents' school

The school also offers a space for parents’ own learning: a place to meet and reflect together on the task of educating their children.

Positive Discipline

We are pioneers in Europe in achieving the Positive Discipline Seal, awarded by the Positive Discipline Association in the United States.

We want pupils to discover the reasons and values behind the rules, rather than simply having a set of regulations imposed on them.

Catholic formation

At school, pupils and their families experience what it means to be beloved children of God.

All-round development of every pupil

Virtues programme

We shape our pupils’ will and emotions through the acquisition of virtues, which we work on through classroom campaigns and activities adapted to each year group.

We focus on a set of virtues we consider fundamental to their development. We focus on two selected virtues each term. The programme includes: order, friendship, respect, generosity, effort, obedience, fortitude, responsibility, gratitude, sincerity, joy and humility.

Virtues and emotional education programme

We shape our pupils’ will and their ability to manage their emotions, helping them become mature individuals for their age.

Sport

Sports programme

18,000 square metres designed to support each pupil’s physical development, with a wide range of sports on offer. Our Elite Sports Programme helps pupils combine their academic work with official sporting competition.

Single-sex classes (educación diferenciada) within a mixed learning environment

We combine the two approaches, taking the best of each. Boys and girls are taught in separate classes in Primary and Secondary (ESO), which allows us to respond better to the specific needs of each pupil, while Early Years and Sixth Form (Bachillerato) are co-educational and everyone shares the school’s facilities and activities in a natural, mixed environment.

This allows us to guide each pupil more effectively according to their stage of development, needs and abilities, improving both their personal development and their academic performance.

It fosters a climate of equality, respect and freedom that encourages participation and decision-making.
